How did it all begin ?

Hi - I'm Beverley and I've been entertaining children (and adults) for as long as I can remember.

My first performance at a party was aged two when I got up to sing a song at my dad's firm's "Christmas do" and they couldn't get me off the stage!

By age six I was entertaining crowds of children on the green near my house (There wasn't much on TV in those days).
I won several talent shows and, over the next few years, formed a folk group with my boyfriend Jon (who is now my husband), and later was lead vocalist in a pop group. I even successfully auditioned for the TV programme Opportunity Knocks.

When my children were small, I trained as a playgroup leader and had great fun entertaining and playing my guitar and singing at music time.

In 1982 my children won a National Puppetry Competition and appeared at Hamleys toyshop in London. After the competition they wanted to perform their play again and a friend and I decided it would be an excellent idea to raise funds for our playgroup.

Unfortunately, the puppet show was only fifteen minutes long so someone else had to fill the other 45 minutes of the hour show we had advertised. All eyes were on me!!

We called it The Fun Factory Show as our intention was to make lots of fun! The show included songs with the guitar for the children to join in with, magic, balloon modelling, puppets and competitions.

It was so popular that we had to put on more than one show! Afterwards, I was approached by people wanting parties and my diary was soon full.

My new career had begun and I've never looked back!! I work hard to make every Fun Factory event special and I hope to meet you soon.

My husband Jon is a wonderful musician and plays guitar and mandolin in the shows. He is often the butt of my jokes and the children love him. He is also the DJ at our Disco Parties, leaving me free to motivate the children with dance routines, games and competitions. As the song says he is "The Wind Beneath My Wings" (There must be a joke in there somewhere).

A year ago, I got through the X Factor auditions at the O2 Arena in London so my singing days are not over yet!
